ECE PH.D. CANDIDATE · UT AUSTIN
I am Haoyu Wang, a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where I conduct research with Prof. Alex Hanson in the Power Electronics and Magnetics Group.
My research at UT Austin explores how automated experimentation and data-driven methods can work together to make high-frequency power electronic systems more efficient and easier to design. I am also dedicated to high-level power electronics, such as solid-state transformers, etc.

WHAT I WORK ON
Research Focus
High-Level Power Electronics
Modeling, modulation, control, and optimization for solid-state transformers, etc.
Automated Magnetic Loss Measurement
Fast and accurate experimental platforms for characterizing magnetic core loss across wide frequency and excitation ranges.
Data-Driven Techniques
Digital twins with machine learning for advanced power electronic control and symbolic identification methods for magnetic core loss modeling.
